In 2017, Adobe announced that their long-time animation program, Adobe Flash, would reach its end of life as a program at the conclusion of 2020, after over 20 years of prominence on the internet. Along with it, support for the animation viewer Flash Player was discontinued, and at this point modern web browsers have blocked the Flash plugin from running, as it is out of date. While the circumstances of Flash reaching its end of life are out of our control, it goes without saying that Flash animations were a significant part of DeviantArt’s past. Currently I'm updating from Macromedia Flash Professional 8 to Adobe Flash CS3. I'm hoping that Adobe Flash CS3 is more compatible with Windows Vista, as Flash 8 tends to have problems and it's kind of getting on my nerves to be honest. It messes up with the layout and sometimes the colours refuse to be picked. Also, ever since I upgraded to Flash Player 10 a couple of weeks ago, it's been really slow. It'll be interesting to see how much of an improvement CS3 is, and what new I can do with it.
